November Donations - Recognizing Patient Mental Health in Hospice Care

During the month of November, The Chiaroscuro Project worked with Home2 Suites by Hilton in Leesburg to make and send off 50 self care bags! We were beyond grateful for the support of guests, management, housekeeping, and front desk workers who came together to learn a little about The Chiaroscuro Project’s mission and get involved in the donations being sent to patients at Blue Ridge Hospice, a local hospice care center located in Winchester, Virginia. The connection began many months ago in August, when CEO Makenna Blair got in contact with the head of donations at Blue Ridge Hospice. Months later, Makenna was able to get Home2 Suites involved, and just weeks later, Makenna brought the donations to Blue Ridge Hospice. Items donated included coloring books, colored pencils, Squishmallow stuffed animals, lavender scented herbs, crossword puzzles, and journals. The women at Blue Ridge Hospice were extremely grateful of the donations sent and reminded Makenna that the donations came at the perfect time - during the holiday season. The Chiaroscuro Project will continue to strive to make a difference locally, statewide, and internationally: one small brown bag at a time.
